PDAC reports attendance numbers from 2018 convention

The numbers are in. The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada’s 2018 convention in Toronto attracted 25,606 attendees, 28.9 per cent of whom came from outside Canada. Among the attendees were 525 self-identified Indigenous delegates and 340 media representatives.

Attendees from outside Canada came from 135 countries. Particularly well represented were the U.S., Australia, the U.K., Peru, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, South Afica, Germany, China and Finland.

There were 486 exhibiting organizations in the trade show, including 68 government jurisdictions and 486 mining companies with booths in the Investors Exchange. The PDAC, in partnership with the World Economic Forum, hosted the International Mines Ministers’ Summit for the third year, bringing together 26 Ministers responsible for mining from around the world—the largest turnout to date.
