Two North Bay mining supply companies have received funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation. Nordic Minesteel Technologies, a company specializing in underground haulage solutions, skips, cages and headframes, has received an investment of $159,682 to design and patent two new systems technologies for the mining industry to improve workplace efficiency and employee safety.
RotaCan, a manufacturer of rotary blast hole drill bits, drill pipe, and other string components, is receiving $120,000 to redesign and improve the bearing systems in the company’s rotary drill bits to extend the life of the bits and gain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
