Aussies host underground mining conference in Sudbury

The Australian Centre for Geomechanics is hosting the First International Conference on Underground Mining Technology in Sudbury October 11 to 13.

The Australian Centre for Geomechanics is hosting the First International Conference on Underground Mining Technology in Sudbury October 11 to 13.

The conference will include more than 60 presentations from academics and industry professionals representing 17 countries. Themes to be covered include ground support, ventilation, seismicity, caving, backfill, instrumentation and monitoring, stress measurement and mine planning and scheduling.

Delegates are expected from Chile, Switzerland, the U.S., Australia, the U.K., Indonesia, Brazil, Italy, Belgium, Norway, Peru and China.
