Two more cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the outbreak at a mine near Matachewan.

The Timiskaming Health Unit reported the outbreak at Alamos Gold's Young-Davidson Mine Nov. 4.

At that time there were three cases. All of those cases live outside the health unit area.

In a Nov. 6 bulletin on its Facebook page, the health unit reported five cases are now linked to the outbreak. The people are isolating at home.

It does not indicate where the people are located, however, the health unit has not reported a new case in its region since early October.

In the Facebook post, the health unit said the outbreak continues to be under investigation. To date, there have been 17 confirmed cases of the virus in the Timiskaming Health Unit region. All of those are recovered.
