WipWare Inc., a photoanalysis software and systems company serving the mining, aggregate and explosives industries, has moved to a new location in North Bay.

The new location provides the company with more space for production, training, R&D and warehousing, and marks the second relocation for WipWare in the last 12 months.

Wipware president Tom Palangio said the move demonstrates the continuous progress his company has made since its inception in the basement of his Bonfield, Ontario home.

“This new facility will help us meet the needs of our customers with expanded staff, support facilities and manufacturing capability,” he said. “It will also assist us as we look to further expand our international distribution network as well as partner in research and development projects related to imaging innovation.”

The company markets photographic fragmentation analysis software technology it invented during the late 1980s in conjunction with the University of Waterloo.

WipWare offers a variety of rugged automated systems utilizing industrial computers, high resolution digital cameras, laser detection devices, electronic flash, infra-red flash or continuous light sources, and radio frequency identification tags in addition to its core software technology.

WipWare technology provides reliable, continuous material analysis, permitting process-control decisions, sometimes fully-automated, based on quantitative data that can optimize operations, saving large industrial operations millions of dollars in annual energy costs and equipment maintenance.

WipWare has a distribution network consisting of 24 distributors in 18 countries.
