Northern Ontario mining suppliers will be out in force at MINExpo 2012 in Las Vegas, September 24 to 26.

The world’s largest mining exposition promises to be bigger and better than ever this year with some 1,800 exhibitors - a 39 per cent increase over 2008 - and 850,000 square feet of exhibit space covering 12 exhibition halls and an outside area at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

This year’s show is expected to attract close to 40,000 attendees from around the world, including hundreds of delegates and exhibitors from Sudbury, North Bay, and Timmins.

Ontario will have a 50 x 20-foot booth accommodating eight to 10 mining suppliers within the Canadian pavilion, but many more Northern Ontario suppliers will be exhibiting on their own.

A reception co-sponsored by the Province of Ontario’s Ministry of Northern Development and Mines and ONE DC, an umbrella economic development group representing the five major cities of Northern Ontario, will be held at the Mirage Hotel’s Rhumbar Lounge Monday, September 24th at 6 pm. Invitees will include investors, junior mining companies, mining equipment and services companies and government representatives.

Additionally, the City of Greater Sudbury will be co-hosting an invitation-only reception Tuesday evening, September 25th at the Wynn Encore to promote mining related career opportunities in the city’s booming economy. Partnering with the city are Vale, Xstrata Nickel, Laurentian University, Hatch and BESTECH.
