HLS Hard-Line Solutions Inc., a Sudbury company specializing in tele-operation and mining communications technology, was honoured with an Ontario Global Traders Award for Market Expansion at an awards presentation in November.
Ryan Siggelkow, special projects manager, accepted the award at the gala hosted by CBC's Dragons' Den co-stars Arlene Dickinson and Kevin O'Leary.
The judges applauded Hard-Line Solutions for excellent service, superior products, the company's focus on customized solutions and its expansion to international markets, including Peru, Chile, Ireland, United States, Argentina and Brazil.
"Hard-Line has been exporting for over a decade and throughout that time our company has received valuable assistance from the Ontario government," said Siggelkow. "This recognition from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce is of great importance to our staff."
The company also recently received an honourable mention at the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters' Innovation Insights Regional Awards for New Technology in December.
Hard-Line Solutions received the award for its semi-autonomous miniature miner technology that allows miners to operate underground equipment from surface. The system is enabled by the company's Mine Area Net digital communications solution.
