Laurentian University has received $5,152,676 from Industry Canada’s Knowledge Infrastructure program for its Vale Inco Living with Lakes Centre.
Financial support from all three levels of government, industry and private pledges have contributed to the $20,252,500 required to begin construction. The centre’s projected completion date is March 2011.
The centre will support applied research in environmental restoration and sustainability and be home to the Co-operative Freshwater Ecology Unit.
