"We looked at several locations but decided that North Bay was the right fit for a number of reasons," said Cementation director and president Roy Slack.

Cementation Canada is currently busy on several projects in Northern Ontario, sinking two shafts simultaneously at Xstrata Nickel's Nickel Rim South project in Sudbury. It is also sinking a 7,000 ft shaft at Goldcorp's Red Lake Mine in northwestern Ontario.

A subsidiary of South Africa-based Murray and Roberts Ltd., Cementation Canada has a mandate to serve the mine development and contracting requirements of mining companies in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
