A Delegation from Peru visits Sudbury, North Bay

A delegation of 18 Peruvian mine managers, superintendents and consultants visited North Bay and Sudbury, May 8 to 10.

A delegation of 18 Peruvian mine managers, superintendents and consultants visited North Bay and Sudbury, May 8 to 10. Organized by the country’s association of mining engineers, the mission was designed to acquaint decision makers in Peru’s mining industry with Canadian mining equipment and technology solutions.

The three days spent in Northern Ontario were part of a two-week mission that included stopovers in Toronto, Montreal and Rouyn-Noranda. The delegation attended the CIM conference and trade show in Montreal and participated in one-on-one meetings with suppliers in Toronto.

In North Bay, they visited Rahnmet, Minesteel Fabricators, Metalfab, Rotacan, Boart Longyear and Mining Technologies International (MTI). In Sudbury, they participated in one-on-one meetings with approximately 15 Sudbury suppliers, visited the Canadian Mining and Industrial Expo, toured the Dynamic Earth geoscience attraction and visited Golder Paste Technology and MTI. They also took part in Mining Week celebrations in Sudbury.

Members of the delegation represented Barrick Gold and Glencore International mining operations, among others.
