Sudbury innovation centre seeks business pitches

NORCAT to host 10th annual pitch competition on May 4
CircuitIQ was the winner of the Pitch 2022 competition, hosted by NORCAT in Sudbury.

Sudbury’s NORCAT innovation centre is seeking participants for Pitch 2023, its 10th annual business pitch competition.

During the event, set to take place on May 4, four entrepreneurs will pitch their business proposals to a panel of judges, which will then choose a winner.

A total of $10,000 in cash prize is available to win, with the people’s choice winner taking home $5,000.

Past winners include CircuitIQ (2022), whose technology maps electrical circuits; Symboticware (2021), whose technology collects and analyzes data for the mining industry; and iRegained, which makes a device designed to help stroke patients regain hand function.

Entrepreneurs can apply to participate until Feb. 26. Successful applicants will receive mentorship and guidance to prepare for their pitch between March and May.

Pitches will be presented during a live event, to be held at the Sudbury Theatre Centre in downtown Sudbury, on May 4.
