A Sudbury woman has been recognized for her work in the construction industry by the Council of Ontario Construction Associations (COCA).

Trina Hayden, who serves on the board of directors of the Northeastern Ontario Construction Association, received the President’s Award during the association’s awards dinner and gala in Niagara Falls on June 9.

The President’s Award is bestowed at the discretion of the president for contributions made to the association and the industry.

Currently serving as the director of advisory services at the NORCAT innovation centre in Sudbury, Hayden’s experience spans industries, including mining, construction, oil and gas, and technical trades.

In her current role, Hayden works with clients around the world on a variety of strategic and tactical projects. Her areas of expertise include human capital strategy and planning, training and development program design and delivery, and compliance and risk management.

She currently serves as Health and Safety Committee chair on the Northeastern Ontario Construction Association board, and chair of the Sudbury Chapter of the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA).

Earlier this year, Hayden was named a Top Woman in Safety by Canadian Occupational Safety magazine.

The Council of Ontario Construction Associations (COCA) is a federation of construction associations, the largest and most representative group of industrial, commercial, institutional (ICI) and heavy civil construction employers in the province.
