Sudbury's William Day Construction has sold its commercial waste management division to Environmental 360 Solutions of Aurora.

Day's Commercial Solid Waste Management Service has been providing solid waste services to industrial, commercial, and municipal customers through the Sudbury and surrounding region for over 20 years.

“As a family company, it was not easy for Bart, Everett and I to sell a division that so many of our employees had worked so hard to build," said Shawn Day, president of Day Group in a statement.

"Our decision is a result of choosing to focus on our core business of mining services and transportation. After lengthy discussions with Donato we felt that our customer base and employees in the Sudbury area would be well taken care of to the same standards we worked so hard to maintain.”

The family-owned Day Group has been a multi-faceted industrial service provider for more than 65 years offering construction, trucking, and mining services for clients in Sudbury and across Northern Ontario.

“I would like to thank Shawn, Bart, and Everett Day for trusting E360S with servicing their long-standing customers," said E360 Solution founder-CEO Donato ('Danny') Ardellini in a statement.

"We are excited to also welcome the WDC WMS employees who are joining the E360S team. The acquisition represents an attractive opportunity for E360S to expand its market share and continue to drive organic growth and is the start of a working relationship between E360S and the Day Group on other service platforms," he said.

Environmental 360 Solutions was founded in October 2018, by Ardellini, a waste management industry veteran of 30 years.

He started National Waste Services(NWS) in January 2000, starting with a single truck and grew the company to serve more than 400,000 households in Hamilton, Toronto, Kawartha Lakes, Durham Region and Northumberland County, plus a number of industrial and commercial customers. NWS merged with GFL in 2008.

Since establishing E36 Solutions, the company has been on an acquistion spree of waste management and sanitation companies.

Day's waste division was one of four companies E360 has acquired this month, including  two Quebec firms: Centre de Location St-Rémi in St. Michel and Le Géant du Conteneur, based in Châteauguay; along with Riteway Vacuum Service  in Edmonton, AB.

Earlier this year, E360 picked up Chem-Ecol in Cobourg, JC Enviro from Etobicoke, Centreline Sanitation in London and Anachem in Montreal.

"The acquisition of WDC WMS will allow E360S to realize significant operational synergies with its existing operations in Sudbury and surrounding region," added Ardellini. "E360S will also offer WDC WMS’ customers the entire suite of waste management solutions currently offered by E360S. We continue to execute on our goal of becoming Canada’s most trusted environmental management company.”
