Thunder Bay's TBT Engineering has a new president at the helm.
Scott Peterson has been bumped up from vice-president to the top job, succeeding company co-founder Rob Frenette.
The move was effective on Feb. 1.
Frenette will remain within the TBT Engineering Consulting Group as president of TBT Surveyors and managing director of all TBT Engineering Consulting Group companies.
A news release from the company called the promotion a "significant day in the evolution" of the 26-year-old firm which primarily works the infrastructure, mining, energy, transportation, First Nations, and government sectors with 16 divisions.

“Today, TBT Engineering Limited sits at the forefront of one of the most exciting markets in our region," said Peterson in a statement.
"Thanks to the incredible vision and leadership of Rob and Liana Frenette and their entire team, TBT Engineering is a unique, Northwestern Ontario success story. I look forward to working with the team to build on the foundation that has been laid and to capture the new opportunities before us."
The company expects a seamless transition as Peterson will work closely with the senior management team, including TBT's other co-founder, CEO Liana Frenette.
According to the release, Peterson is widely respected in the geotechnical, geological, transportation and environmental engineering community, and provided technical, professional and management support in several divisions within the company.
