Mining service and supply companies from across Northern Ontario will congregate virtually this spring as part of the 2021 convention and expo hosted by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM).

The annual CIM convention and expo is typically held in person, but will go online this year in respect of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Scheduled for May 3-6, the four-day event comprises guest speakers, technical presentations, virtual mine tours, and a tradeshow featuring the latest in mining equipment, tools, technology, hardware and software.

Twenty-five exhibitors from Northern Ontario will participate as part of the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase.

Inaugurated for the Prospectors and Developers of Canada of Canada (PDAC) convention in 2014, the showcase provides 110 small and medium-sized mining enterprises from the North an opportunity to promote their products and services to companies in jurisdictions around the world, explore potential partnerships, and expand their markets.

In recent years, the showcase has expanded to include a second, smaller event at the CIM conference.

Registration to visit exhibitors’ booths at the event is free. A directory of showcase attendees is available here.

The Northern Ontario Mining Showcase is a joint initiative of the City of Temiskaming Shores and FedNor.
