Julie Zulich has assumed the role of president at TESC Contracting Company Ltd. (TESC) of Sudbury, said a company news release on January 15, 2020.

Zulich will oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall company strategy and vision, said the company release.   Don Bennett, a company partner and previous president, will continue to support TESC as a principal and an advisor to role of president.  Zulich said she was pleased with her appointment.

“I am honored to be named the President for TESC Contracting,” said Zulich.  “I am grateful for the encouragement of my partners, Dario Zulich and Don Bennett, who not only have confidence in my abilities, but who have been supportive of this exciting change.  My father was one of the founders of TESC in 1976 and I am eager to play a key role in this legacy.  My passion for the people in this industry and our business developed with my early involvement in 2000 and I am excited to lead this team into the next decade.  It is a privilege to guide and develop the most talented people into industry leaders who deliver high quality construction services to the best clients.”

As a graduate from Laurentian University’s Honours Bachelor of Commerce program, Zulich has worked with TESC since 2000, holding various leadership positions within the company as it grew its operations.  She is the first female President of TESC since inception, and she is committed to promoting diversity and equality in the workplace, said the release.

Early in 2019, Zulich was selected as First Chair of the Women in Mechanical Construction (WIMC), a committee of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada (MCAC) that offers a forum for female professionals in the industry to connect, interact and share experiences.  She is also the first female board member of the MCAC, and Board Member and Chair of the Sudbury Chapter of Hope’s Eating Disorders Support Services.

“Julie is an excellent choice to steer and inspire management representatives to develop a high performing team and advance employee engagement as we enter this next chapter,” said Dario Zulich. “Julie is a proven leader with a strong business acumen, a unique perspective, and the ability to bring people together.” Dario Zulich remains a partner of TESC with Julie, where he is responsible for overseeing the Business Development function.
