Lake Shore Gold announces two appointments

Lake Shore Gold Corp. has announced the appointment of Ingrid Hibbard to the company's board of directors. Hibbard brings to Lake Shore Gold over 25 years of experience in the mining industry.

Lake Shore Gold Corp. has announced the appointment of Ingrid Hibbard to the company's board of directors.

Hibbard brings to Lake Shore Gold over 25 years of experience in the mining industry. She is currently president, chief executive officer and a director of Pelangio Exploration Inc., as well as a director of Detour Gold Corporation.

From 1997 to 2009, Hibbard was CEO of PDX Resources Inc. (formerly Pelangio Mines Inc.). Prior to that, she was a mining and securities lawyer, whose clients ranged from junior explorers to major mining companies such as Noranda and Hemlo Gold Mines Inc. Hibbard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario.

Lake Shore Gold also announced the appointment of Peter van Alphen as vice-president, operations.

van Alphen brings to Lake Shore Gold 20 years of experience in the mining industry, most recently as vice-president and general manager, Canadian operations, for DMC Mining Services.

Prior to joining DMC in 2010, he served as project/mine manager with Quadra FNX, where he had a leading role in bringing the Morrison Deposit at the Levack Mine in Sudbury to commercial production. He has also served as mine superintendent and project manager at the Podolsky Mine in Sudbury. van Alphen has an Engineering degree from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.
