The Mining Innovation Commercialization Accelerator (MICA) Network will host its first ever conference and innovation showcase next week in Toronto.
Sudbury-based MICA is a national, multidisciplinary group of stakeholders working to speed up the commercialization of new products that address mining's most persistent problems.
Launched last fall, MICA is led by the Centre for Excellence of Mining Innovation in Sudbury.
The three-day event will be held Nov. 14-16 at the Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown.
Highlights include presentations on mining companies’ roadmap to innovation; jobs and skills of the future, and intellectual property, as well as a demo day hosted by MaRS.
There will also be an update on MICA programming, and the recipients of the second round of project funding will be announced.
Samantha Espley, a senior executive advisor at Stantec, will be the session chair.
More information about the event, including registration details, is available here.
